GOOD TIMES: COLBY B. AND BUBI

Three weeks ago, we invited back Colby B. to DJ our weekly Wednesday Good Times party at Eastern Bloc. We hadn't heard Colby DJ in a minute ("I went back to painting faces," aka make-up work, she told us in the booth) so we had her back for  refresher on good ol' dance music.

I think Ericka and Nelson arrived right after a guest appearance on stage at Justin Bond's Joe's Pub gig around Valentine's Day. Or maybe just dressed like that for Good Times. You never know.

My favorite Long Island meatball, Anthony (right) and his handsome friend Jordan, starting the night off right.

Can they just come every Wednesday at 10pm and give me a private show like this? I'm serious.

Colby was giving me a Stevie Nicks vibe with Karen O. shoulders and truth be told, I couldn't keep my hands off.

When Michelle Visage says big hair, something like this should come to mind.

EVERYTHING.

Bubi's art opening and subsequent after party had to be conveniently pushed back to a Wednesday due to a storm watch the Friday before, which was great for us because it meant Bubi (right) and Paul could after-party with us at Good Times all night long. And they did.

My incredibly talented jewelry designer neighbor, Mr. Christopher Habana, who is overdue for a daytime drop-by at the DONKEY studio (aka my apartment) where the music magic really happens. If you haven't ready done so, go check out DONKEY's first remix for the Carry Nation + Cucarachas' Warrior track over HERE.

Cheers to beers (and $1 vodka drinks from 11 - 1130pm, each and every Wednesday).

Denise and I used to work together at a bar on 2nd avenue, where I'd play her Tanya Stephens tracks all night and we'd dance to Big Pun. You can only imagine how Good Times turned out when she showed up. (Needless to say, we stayed till 4am when we finally had to leave. Reluctantly.)

San Francico's Raf (right) and his equally-as-sexy Danish boyfriend. They're making it work long distance too, and Copenhagen to San Francisco is a long-ass distance. (PS - I'll be in SF March 21 - 26th. Passover parties?)

BEHOLD! COLBY AND THE NEW DJ BOOTH WALL! We were closed last Wednesday because of renovations but we're stoked to be back tonight, March 6th for guest DJ Bill Coleman and a brand-new dance floor!

Long Island DJ sistes.

Her body language was saying no pictures but her awesome Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids ensemble was saying otherwise.

That time of the night when Blake shows up (right) and asks me to get into a deep and dark tech-house set, aka 3am.

Awwwwwwwwww.

Good Times! And the good times will get even better as the weather gets warmer, the sun sets later and guest DJ Bill Coleman pays us a visit to give us some new school and some old school. xo, Sparber

GOOD TIMES: THE LOST PARTY PHOTOS

At last Wednesday's Good Times get together at Eastern Bloc, the messiest mary of 'em all, DJ Jeff Chatterton, covered for me while I cruised around LA in a convertible getting way too much sun and DJed at some parties called Raunch, Furr Trade and Bears in Space, all of which were major. Since no one snapped photos at Good Times, however, I've dug some unseen photos from last year when my lovely friends Colby B. and Kevin Graves filled in during another jaunt of mine.

Given that these three all chose to wear white tshirts, you would think this Good Times may have happened shortly after last year's Memorial Day festivities in the beginning of June. Unfortunately, the climate and attire inside Eastern Bloc never matches that outside of Eastern Bloc so again, no idea when these photos were taken.

Shorty swing his waaaaaaaaay

Boys and their best Blue Steel model poses.

One of bar owner Darren's more XXX poster choices, which is probably now hanging on a Bushwick bedroom wall that I hope to see one day so I can be like, THAT'S FROM EASTERN BLOC!

That really sexy guy on the left had just moved to New York from Hawaii last year so yeah, I think this party happened last fall, though I haven't seen him out and about in a minute so maybe he's back in Oahu conducting hukilaus.

New York nightlife icon Rainblo (left), who has since gotten more inked up and has even managed to ruffle a few feathers in New York nightlife and that is exactly why we love him.

Our timeless Good Times favorites, Ryan, Steven and Gary (from left), with Gary giving his typical no-photo diva pose and Ryan living his typical Mariah Carey diva fantasy.

I actually just saw Chris (left) in Los Angeles when he popped by Raunch at Faultline where I was DJing, looking as cute as ever and acting as sweet as ever while subtly trying to subvert my DJ set into a pop music bonanza.

I CAN SEE YOUR HALO, HALO, HALO and it's really really red.

Thug misses known what I mean.

Barchy and his buddy, meditating to something like the sounds of Beth Ditto or Karen O. most likely.

Even though I'm sure I told them when they covered, I once again would like to say how much I love Kevin (left) and Colby, two of the hardest working DJs in the game who have been hustling nonstop from Seattle to London and back to New York to bring great music and great energy to everyone they meet.

Yup. Your typical Wednesday Good Times scene at Eastern Bloc. Handsome drunk bearded boys and lots of red lightbulbs and disco balls.

Oooooooooh. Looks like Evans (left) and Telfar may have come from baking class before they popped by and whatever they feasted on looks mad delicious.

SIDEBOOB ALERT! If this party did indeed take place in the Autumn, I'm pretty sure that Brian (left) and Damian have been partying straight on through winter and spring with maybe five nights off TOTAL between the two of them.

I swear that we accept no money from Pabst Blue Ribbon in any way, shape or form, though getting a sponsorship from them wouldn't be the worst idea in the world. Anyone? Anyone?

Joey (right) and Frankie, sitting in a denim-lined and air-conditioned tree (and drinking PBR no less).

BEARDED EAST VILLAGE TWIN FANTASY is about to commence in 3, 2, 1...

And that's it for our long, lost unseen Good Times photo archive. Your guess is still as good as mine as to when this party went down but I still sort of wish I was there. Join us at our next Good Times, May 23, when we welcome the unstoppable and unbelieveable Alex from Tokyo. See ya! xx, Sparber

GOOD TIMES: COLBY'S GUILTY PLEASURES

I'm pretty sure we've done a guilty pleasures Good Times party at our weekly Wednesday Eastern Bloc happening before but hey, who doesn't love a guilty pleasure? I mean, that's why they're called guilty PLEASURES. And if that's what Colby B, our guest DJ and recent Seattle transplant, wants to do, then so be it!

First off, congrats to Dandylion (left), who'll be celebrating the one year anniversary of his second Sunday monthly at Eastern Bloc in September. The party is called Marinate and its a guilty pleasure of mine, even if I routinely forget that its every second Sunday.

One of the displeasures of this particular evening was that we had no photographer to snap the lovely photos you love to see so much, which meant my camera had to become a sloppy pass around bottom for whoever chose to play with it, much like a few of our patrons.

David's guilty pleasure - double fisting! Oh, and he likes holding two drinks at once too. Buh dum bum!

If I could list all of Gaston and Lloyd's guilty pleasures under this photo, I'd use up my allotted space on blogger and facebook. But Lloyd did EMAIL ME during the party that he wanted some Britney so there you go.

Brian's guilty pleasure is clearly shorties with beards. But you already knew that.

For my musical guilty pleasure, I unleashed one and only one pop track: Justin Bieber's Baby!

We were so happy to welcome guest DJ Colby B. (center) to Good Times for the first time since she relocated to New York. Unfortunately, it seems as though she spends more time flying back to Seattle than ever before.

Everyone's guilty pleasure: GINGER BEARDS.

Little Pablo, my former neighbor who used to swing by Good Times four years ago and pole dance in a jockstrap, done gone and got himself a black swan tattoo!

Sadly, Mikey L.'s guilty pleasure, POPPERS, were absent from this party but we're planning a Poppers & Daddies resurrection in the near future. We make even make it a Latin Poppers & Daddies party, which will henceforth be known as Poppers & Papis.

I spy a real life guilty pleasure up on the right hand side of this trio.

B. Raff (right) and his bearded, blue eyed friend for the evening.

COLBY! Colby and I actually fulfilled more than just our Mariah Carey Def Jam remix guilty pleasures this week when we attended a Beyonce concert at Roseland a few nights later. Bugaboo live = most ultimate guilty pleasure ever.

Jezatron! London gal pal Jeremy was in town for one week but remained on his best behavior since his daddy boyfriend was always a few steps away. Adonis strip club next time fo' sho'!

Eddie (right) and B. Raff and their bodacious C-cup ta-ta's.

Without his glasses or prominent bowtie tattoo, I was very much like, WHO IS THIS to Eric for a hot minute before my early onset Alzheimer's subsided.

Boys boys boys.

We love a retired lawyer of the Quinn persuasion, or really anyone that quits their day job making partying their full-time night job.

Plaid-y daddies.

A long long time ago, I snapped a not-so-flattering photo of Avi (left) and Patches which never saw the light of day, much to Avi's chagrin so it seemed only fair to give it another go.

Can uuuuuu feeeeeeeel, the lovvvvvvvvve, to-niiiiiiiight?

I love how Stephen's gestures match the sentiment of his shirt so so perfectly.

Greg, giving you this week's situation. And next week, we have James and Nathanial aka the Foxy boys who do an awesome disco party in Boston and are back to DJ and wear towels. For reals. If you missed them last time, here's your second and final chance for the summer.

Guilty twink pleasures!

James V., sporting the ultimate gay guilty pleasure: a button-down sleeveless! Do you think it has a hood on the back as well?

Hola Gerardo (left). I'm hoping that shirt refers to my favorite M.I.A. song of all time ever off that first mixtape Diplo did for her. Can we talk about the fact that Diplo did End of Time for Beyonce too which is pretty much the song of 2011.

I pretty much didn't recognize Bradley, who has relocated back to New York and is now giving you major body.

Jason and his New York homothug look is pretty much everyone's guilty pleasure but I ain't mad at it.

Jamil (right) and friend, giving you LEWQS.

Sums up just about everything anyone could ever care about.

These two on the left have pretty much claimed the stage area as their VIP so if you see them coming through in the coming weeks, just clear the way and give them their space, as they are known to majorly turn it.

Oh Christ.

The Dadaism effect.

The Black and Blues brother effect.

So for next week's Foxy party, you're encouraged to wear as little as possible. Skimpy tank tops. Short shorts. Towels. Well, the Foxy boys want you in towels. And they'll be in towels. So yeah - DO IT. Everyone loves a good photo op too.

Arrash (left, with his man James), was kind enough to lend his expert photo skills to the Good Times party in the absence of all other photographers. Thank you Arrash!

Sometimes, when photographers get drunk, they tend to forget that they may be stuck in the zoom in mode, as seen here, though it does make for a captivating photo nonetheless.

Drunky Brazilian, who was friendly till he wasn't and had to be booted from the DJ booth vicinity.

Guilty pleasure: ROSARY BEADS! Secretly love how they distinguish the Jews from the non-Jews too.

David (left) and his handsome buddy, out for a nightcap.

Loving how Jamil is following that Vogue, Vogue, Poppers, Vogue shirt down to a T.

Yes, hunty. Jermaine is giving you the LEWQ of all lewqs.

And then it was winter.

See you next week for Foxy Good Times with the beefcake Foxy boys of Boston, James and Nathanial. Did I mention that they're single and ready to mingle? Get into it. xo
