ST. PATRICK'S DAY

Happy belated St. Patrick's Day, and happy anniversary to me for DJing at the same straight East Village spot for three entire years. This week more retarded than usual thanks to the drunken bridge-and-tunnel crowd.

Sag Harbor reprazent! (that's a town on Long Island)

Everyone was pretty bombed already when I showed up at 11pm so I kept it pretty top 40 so people wouldn't get up in my grill.

When did Mardi Gras beads become acceptable St. Patrick's Day fare? It's like, well both holidays are in the winter and involve lots of alcohol. Let's just merge them together.

People seriously get so excited when I DJ. Witness exhibit A, the girl on the right.

Exhibit B, guy on the left.

When did it become acceptable to wear your laundry clothes out on a Saturday night?

Not only does this picture rule cuz homegirl wants some chicken noodle soup with a soda on the side but check out not one, but TWO pairs of green boots. These ladies go all out.

Recycling shirt, beads and bangs. Need I say more?

A gay leprechaun even appeared in my DJ booth, only to tell me that he used to be a dancer and now lives in Astoria and was headed to Eastern Bloc. That was soooo last Wednesday.

"I can relate to Biggie Smalls, son."

Thank god the bar staff, including bouncer/barback Haydn (pictured above) was there to keep me sane. Even though Haydn was also wasted and had flashing green lights clipped into his hair (???), we had a good time.

THIS IS WHY THEY CALL IT THE BEST NEW GAY BAR

Last night concluded my two week Wednesday stint at New York Magazine's "best new gay bar," Eastern Bloc. Thanks to everyone who came through and got the party started. My camera died somewhere around 1am so you'll probably never know what went on late night. Oh, and I'm free to DJ more parties, in case anyone asks.

Christine and Tom stayed a while. They just didn't want to take off their coats.

Ludo, Dave and Scott rocking men's room realness.

Matt and I met 10 years ago. Apparently, we both have a thing for bright colors.

Will worked the pole magnificently, as always.

"Did you guys catch American Idol tonight? I just lovvvvvvve Sanjaya."

Adam rolled through with his event planner posse.

Christine probably telling me that her lip gloss is poppin'.

Oh yes its ladies night and the feeling's right.

Michael and Cady are all about Fergalicious.

Micheal and Trent are all about maintaining perfectly trimmed beards.

Christian! Patches! Christian and Patches' friend!

She told me it was her first time at a gay bar and she was loving it. Duh.

Will was rocking Miami Vice realness but you couldn't really see it without my flash.

Tatted up dude buys a drink.

If you were there last night, you got served. By Darren.

Smiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiile.

David and Joe, a.k.a. the jewish and blatino East Village skinhead posse.

Christian and Tim in the house!

And sadly, Christine and James are putting on their coats and saying goodbye. For now.

GOOD TIMES AT EASTERN BLOC

Gay bar madness! I DJed a party at Eastern Bloc this Wednesday for my friend Jimmy, who leads an extravagant double life as a promoter and a travel writer. This week, while he tanned in Mexico, his friend Chris and I turned out the new Kelly Rowland for those who braved the snow.

We started off mellow. Chris got into some Sneaker Pimps shit which got the crowd moving.

Lucile (right) and crew rocked out when Chris dropped Luscious Jackson.

East Village gays have the sexiest beards.

You can't tell but Marko is rocking a Manhunt Valentine's Day tshirt. Yes he did.

Matt (left) likes to pretend he's jewish. Too bad he didn't bring out his curly-haired jew wig.

Stephen and Nate both really really tall. And bearded. And cute.

Cesar and Christine basically made out all night.

And Will explained that he likes to go-go to 80s jams like Cyndi Lauper (???)

Then he told me that he'll REALLY work the pole if I play some country music (???????)

But I opted for, ummmm, the new Kelly Rowland. And Lil Mama's Lip Gloss.

Paul knows how to work a pole too.

And Marc (right) now knows how to work a (cinnamon) roll thanks to baking lessons from Matt. See you next Wednesday.
