LOOKOUT WEEKEND, HERE I COME, BECAUSE WEEKENDS WERE MADE FOR FUN

GOOD TIMES: LONG LIVE LED ZEPPELIN

Every April, we set aside one Wednesday in the month to celebrate two of our most favorite things in life: Led Zeppelin and Lina Bradford. Usually, we combine these pleasures but this year, due to Lina'a earlier-than-usual departure for her summer house on Fire Island, we instead asked Michael T. to come downtown and rock with us.

Good Times family members such as the ones seen here sometimes graduate to "real world jobs" aka nine to five jobs (like Ryan, right) and then surprise us on a random Wednesday night to say haaaay.

Barman Rob (not pictured) is soon-to-be graduating to a nine to five job but lucky for us, his repalcement (pictured here) is also super sweet and super cute.

DJ Will was repping the Loft's newest tshirt while Trani was out repping for the off-season Michael T. birthday committee.

ABBBBBB SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS-SHOTS-SHOTS!

Category is: New York City nightlife legends.

Without Lina, we weren't too busy but we still carried in the booth till the levee (or the bathroom door) broke. See you April 24th for the next Good Times with guest DJ Joey Labeija. And then Friday for JIZZ at Metro an Sunday for my guest appearance at Paradisco. x, Sparber

GOOD TIMES: SIX YEARS OF GOOD TIMES

Six short years ago, I joined on to DJ a Wednesday party at Eastern Bloc called Good Times, where I eventually learned how to turn out a gay disco dance party, say no to requests (and requesters) and snap some nightlife photography. Here's some evidence:

Charles (right) and his alter ego Steph Stone have been Good Times supporters since DAY ONE. Charles told me that one of his most memorable Good Times moments was when Drew Barrymore showed up and our former photographer Kelvin refused to snap a photo of her "because if I do, she won't come back."

We decided to keep it in the family for the sixth Good Times anniversary, which is why we enlisted the guest DJ services of our good friends and second Sunday Eastern Bloc mainstay, Dandylion. Dan had invited us to DJ with him at the second anniversary of his awesome Marinate party and we were more than happy to return the favor,

My nightlife family: Mother Michael T. on the left, mother Stephanie Stone on the right, sister Nita with me in the DJ booth and our brother Eddie, who was hooting, hollering and heckling just as every brother should.

As a special anniversary treat to us, we invited another Eastern Bloc family member (and former Miss Fire Island 2010), Miss Sabel Scities, to perform a farewell number before she shipped off to Fire Island for the summer.

Miss Sabel did NOT disappoint with her multi-mash up of lick my pussy songs that had the crowd gagging.

She confessed to me that this one of her first times up in pumps at a Good Times ball. And we encouraged her to visit more often.

Eddie, hooting, hollering and heckling in the nicest way possible.

1. Nita (left) has been turning it SO HARD with her productions and sets of late, and 2. I am so looking forward to our April 10th Good Times (tonight) when guest DJ Michael T. (right) joins me for our annual Led Zeppelin birthday Good Times for Lina (Lina left for Fire Island already but we're still playing a ton of Zep and serving Jack Daniels shots in her honor).

TANK TOP WEATHER HAS FINALLY ARRIVED!

Giddy up let's ride, Kinsui style.

Eddie actually took over photo duties for the evening and snapped lots of middle finger portraits, though we didn't want to overdo it with the middle fingers so we're just posting this beauty with barman Rob giving us side-eye from coat check.

That time in the night when everybody started feeeeeeeeeeeling it.

Rob (right) hasn't been with us for all six years of Good Times but it's hard to remember a time when he wasn't helping out with bartending, barbacking, coatchecking and photographing in addition to being the biggest sweetheart (and Britney Spears fan) alive. We will very much miss him when he finishes up at Eastern Bloc in June.

Oh, you didn't know Sabel was sporting two looks in one evening? BAM! That's how she snatched the Miss Fire Island crown and that's how she'll be turning it all summer in Cherry Grove.

When did this angel fall from heaven and land at our party and why can't she do so every Wednesday?

Our favorite new regular, Quinn, who better be coming to Led Zeppelin Good Times on April 10th with me and Michael T. (preferably in boots for Michael) if he knows what's good for him.

Yes to the acid washed denim jacket she is sporting on the right.

Antonio (left) dropped by to say hey after he finished work around the block and we are thankful he did because we're not sure why we hadn't met this local sweetheart sooner.

Daryl kept it real in the DJ booth with me until late, wondering why anyone would want to depart from the good music and good people at Good Times, and that is exactly why we love him.

Happy six year anniversary to anyone and everyone who has ever come through our little Wednesday night party that could at Eastern Bloc in New York City. And see you next Wednesday. xo, Sparber

1996 DOCUMENTARY ABOUT 13-YEAR-OLD RIOT GIRLS WHO DIDN'T SHOWER

CAT POWER TAKES MANHATTAN

Chan Marshall always bestows a certain beauty into all of her creative endeavors and her latest video is no exception. I can't really listen to her music anymore without thinking about DJing a wedding (she is popular nuptial music, FYI) but I'm digging on the way she sees the city we both live in.

BOSS

Here's an original track by my production duo, DONKEY, called BOSS. It's a funky little disco track with a familiar sample in it (we like it when people guess) and it's available for free download over at our Soundcloud page.

THIS WEEKEND

Ladyfag's Friday weekly, 11:11, has been going strong for a few months now with no end in sight. I'm stoked to be DJing it this coming Friday and then again on Sunday with DJ Will Automagic in the basement of Vandam at Greenhouse.

SIX YEARS!

Al Parker for Good Times' six-year anniversary party, tonight!

GOOD TIMES: HIS HIGHNESS' BIRTHDAY / A PARTY FOR RICH KING

Last week, we celebrated the birth of one of the Good Times family's most beloved daddies: Rich King. Rich can pretty much have anything he wants up at our party because we love him so, and so when he asked if he could bring two turntables and spin vinyl for his birthday set, we said yes yes and yes.

My favorite lesbian pinoy Jew on earth, Cheryl (to be honest, I don't any other so if you're out there, holler!) dropped by with a friend on the early side to show face and hear my opening set, which has included lots of Finnebassen of late.

Chattin' it up in the space where the STRIPPER POLE USED TO BE! Yes, we're still grieving the loss of that Eastern Bloc stripper pole but we're told it was an insurance liability and we wouldn't be able to open otherwise. Wah wahhhhh.

So proud of our coat checker Marc, who has been making waves in both the adult film world AND, more importantly, the world of Instagram. Just wait til we get him back on the DJ decks and everyone realizes that he's actually a triple threat.

On April 3rd, we're celebrating out six year Good Times anniversary, and we've invited one of our favorite guests named Dandylion (right, with Brian. His real name is Daniel but we like Dandylion better) to join us, along with a farewell performance by Miss Fire Island 2010 Sabel Scities, who will soon be off to the isle de fuego for the summer.

It's birthday boy Rich King (!) and a guest that we thought was DJ Timmy for a minute but now we're not so sure.

East Village locals out for a beer, though as you can see by the poster in the background, "ASS JUICE" is now a shot option at Eastern Bloc as well. (Only $3!)

DJ BOOTH FACE OFF! Evans (left) and Buddy were actually giving face for 5 - 10 minutes but this was the best photo of the bunch.

Foxy furry friends, reunited! (with DJ Gustavo, Rich and Brian from left).

More DJ on DJ on DJ love from Anthony (left), Michael and Brian.

Solie and her hunky friend dropped by for a hot minute in leopard print leggings and a wig stolen from a Company B photo shoot. Fascinated!

I have no idea how Adam (left) and Quinn no each other nor do I understand how Michael T. convinced Quinn to meet him at Good Times (!) but I'm glad that all of the aforementioned showed up to party with us.

Best photo ever?

The Buddy and Evans photo shoot continues, with Evans giving MAJOR shoulders as per usual.

Adam insisted that I've never been in a photo with him and so we changed all that quite quickly.

This cuteness named Akimbo introduced himself and told me he was enticed by the Good Times party photos he had seen on twerking.com (or maybe Facebook). Either way, he was warmly welcomed.

Speaking of warm welcomes, here's Michael T. giving a warm welcome to a friend.

Darren and one of his many sexy threadbare tshirts.

Post-2am shows.

Yes to EVERYTHING about this jacket. #need.

The bad news is that Lina has already left for Fire Island and won't be coming back in to DJ her annual Led Zeppelin birthday party on April 10th at Good Times. But the Good News is that Michael T. is still on board for Led Zep night and has promised play at a major rock 'n' roll set in the vein of Zeppelin.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RICH KING! Thank you for partying with us and birthdaying with us and being an awesome person. Can't wait to make it to Rich's new Sunday party called Easy with Austin Downey and Brian Gately over at the Westside tavern (though it might be monthly).

Edwin throwing me some side-eye.

And a warm goodnight from Michael and Andrew. See you April 3rd for our Good Times six year anniversary party with Dandylion, Sabel Scities and moi! xo, Sparber
