PAPA JUSTIFY, AKA POP WANSEL

Who is this Papa Justify and where can we get more? Andrew "Pop" Wansel, who apparently goes by the name of Papa Justify (sometimes spelled Justifi) as well, is a young producer out of Philly who killed it not once, but twice on Nicki Minaj's latest effort, Pink Friday. He is credited with production for the Annie Lennox-sampling Your Love, for which they had to re-record the hook with a studio vocalist after the Annie Lennox version leaked, probs for legal reasons. His other outstanding contribution comes as a bonus track to the album called Muny, by far the most energetic, dance-oriented Nicki track of late.

So instead of posting Muny, I dug into Wansel's online back catalog and came across two more impressive tracks. No idea who Cota is nor Britney Mac for that matter (I could do without the vocals on Cota's track, to be honest - the instrumental here sounds great) but it looks like we have a rising production star in the making.

What the Girls Say - Cota
Under Me - Britney Mac

P.S. - Lil' Kim diss track for Nicki came out today. Sorta funny and sad all at once. Kim put on a sick live show earlier this year which did not take place on a national holiday like Nicki's NYC concert last night, which I had to miss. Can't we all just get along?

GOIN' GOIN', BACK BACK, TO CALI CALI

One week, two DJ jobs, parties and pork rinds. That was my past week in San Francisco, starting with one of my all time favorite spots, Booty Call at Q Bar, which just celebrated its three year anniversary.

Go-go dancers that look like Kelvin! Except everyone in San Francisco is Mexican, not Puerto Rican, and really really friendly.

I was actually in the DJ booth for most of the night so I relied on my kind SF hosts to snap photos of chicks chugging bottles of beer at a 100% gay bar in the 1000% gay part of town.

Beard Papas.

Gingers. They're everywhere!

Booty Call is filled with tons of young, sexy men that have moved out west from Idaho and Nevada and just wanna dance every night of the week.

Mel (right) caught wind of this dude near the door repping our good friends Will and Sean B.'s tank for their NYC-based Spank party, which they've also brought out west with lots and lots of success.

It wouldn't be a proper trip to SF without tons and tons of drag.

Connie Girl? Is that you?

The Booty Call queens tended to be a bit more demure than the other party I did, where bearded drag is the norm.

DJs got us fallin' in love (with New York) again.

Miss Ronnie (left) is the REASON! On Friday, she did a Whitney Houston number to I'm Your Baby Tonight that brought down the house!

Thank you x 1000 to Joshua J. (pictured) and Juanita More, who invited me to DJ their stellar Wednesday event. Fingers are crossed that Josh is gonna bring me back soon for a lil' Nicki Minaj soiree.

On Friday, I returned to Some Thing at the Stud, which was 1990s themed that particular night, hence hostess Mica/Vivvy performing Kurt Cobain's suicide note as read by Courtney Love.

My San Francisco muse, Ms. Lady Bear up in the DJ booth.

Facebook friends!

By the end of the very late evening, Vivvy was pinned down by a tall Saudi in the background while Mr. David and Stanley did interpretive dance to Shakespeare's Sister.

Staaaaaaaay. Wiiiiiiiiiiith. Meeeeeeeeeee.

This seriously went on till the kicked us out of the bar and I tried to steal Stanley's leather coat.

Our new Saudi drag friend Fadi, aka Tara Rist.

We also checked out the Tonga Room (!!!), a somewhat dilapidated and totally major Tiki bar beneath the Fairmont Hotel that looks just as it did when it was remodeled in 1967. Save the Tonga Room!

Juanita (pictured) also hosted and DJed a Saturday night party at the Powerhouse called Beatpig, where she gave out pork rinds and spankings to anyone kind enough to ask her for either.

A quick salsa with my most gracious host Roberto (left) and the one and only Juanita.

Thank you San Francisco. Hope to see you again soon!

Back in NYC for Purple Gravy Good Times this Wednesdays, Thanksgiving Eve! Cameron Cooper (of Gag! fame) and I turn out the Prince, Vanity, Apollonia tracks. Don't miss it. xo

THORA BIRCH'S PERSONAL LIFE ENTRY IN WIKIPEDIA

TWERK THAT SAMPLE: T.I.

T.I. seems like he'd be pretty cool with anyone that wants to float gay rumors about him. And why would one do that you ask? Well, he's pretty to look at and well manicured. He also hung with Kathy Griffin on her D-List TV show not too long ago. And to top it off, I discovered this Crystal Waters sampled song which is up there in the top 10 gayest dance songs of all time ever.

TWO OPTIONS FOR TONIGHT

Your East Coast party option.

and your west coast party option, which I'll be DJing.

GOOD TIMES: FURRY SPACE BALLS

For the greatly anticipated cosmic disco party which we held last Wednesday at our weekly Good Times party at Eastern Bloc, I whipped together a cosmic disco mix (download HERE) beforehand to get party goers amped up. That, plus the treat of that sexy guest DJ beast known as Mark Louque, was enough to send patrons into a Four Loko-like tizzy.

Alex (left) and crew helped kick the evening off with black leather and high brow conversation centered around this week's issue of the New Yorker.

Willkommen, bienvenue, welcome. Fremde, etranger, stranger. Gluklich, zu sehen, je suis enchante, Happy, to see you, bleibe reste staaaaaaay. (Sung in harmony, of course.)

Wowee zowee! I'm really feeling this new kid on the block and promise to do one cosmic disco party a month if that's the draw.

Continuing to sing the rest of the Cabaret soundtrack as the evening progresses.

Yes to these cuties in matching windbreakers.

Erickatoure (left) turned into our unofficial hostess for the evening, as she arrived early, did a meet and greet with everyone and kept a watchful eye from her perch at the corner of the bar.

Did you know that Casey (left) used to be called Chili when he was growing up? I'm trying to bring it back.

CHILITA! Quit hamming it up with Kelvira and let him get back to work!

Slowed down beats like Simian Mobile Disco's Cruel Intentions and anything by Glass Candy can really melt a room into one giant cuddle puddle.

A ginger I can get into!

...and apparently one that he can get into too.

It's all about the coats this season dawwwwwwling.

So once the $1 vodka bar thing from 11 - 1130pm had passed, the bar was packed boots. Lots of Provincetown people came to see their summer vacay DJ bear in action, who was Chinatown bussing it as the party got hopping.

Steven (right) needs some consoling now that his partner in nightlife crime, Kevin F., is away in Thailand in India for a month. Missing you Kevin! Can't wait for you to return to New York as the ladyboy you've always wanted to become!

Mikey (center, with William and Mel) was marching to the drum of a butch beat this particular evening with his SASL (straight acting, straight looking, pronounced sazzle) Jersey realness look.

That new sitcom, Everyone Loves Harriet Halloway.

Sazzle!

So Mark (center) did arrive and somehow ended up shirtless and convinced Eric (right) and Eddie to do the same. East Village Roxy party much?

Spaced out on cosmic disco from the heavens above.

I will be missing this shana punim (yiddish for pretty face) next Wednesday, since I'll be in San Francisco partying and DJing with Ms. Juanita More and Joshua J. at Booty Call (!!!) while Michael Magnan and Telfar hold down the Good Times at Eastern Bloc for me.

Miss Xander was FEELING IT that night and her look did NOT disappoint.

William says: another week, another man. Apparently this one came with a secret service lady agent to make sure things stayed calm and cool.

Medo (left, with Eric) definitely attempted to leave the party three times or more but kept coming back because the party was that much fun. Or he was that much drunk. Either way, you can count on these two jews to host our upcoming annual Hannukah Good Times on Dec. 8.

Loving the guy in the background who retardedly drunk in a very literal sense.

I can only imagine what the neighbors think.

Paul, giving you wannabe sazzle. Not happening Paul. Sorreeeeeeee.

LETTING. YOU. HAVE IT!!!!!!!!!!

And suddenly the clock struck three.

...which is when things always seem to get extra weird. Like this.

And like this.

Told y'all I was gonna bump like this. Thank you to Mark for making everyone drool with his jams and his furry chest. Check me out at Booty Call in Frisco on Wednesday and at Some Thing at The Stud on Friday. And if you can't make it, then go see Michael and Telfar at Good Times. xo
