It feels like yesterday instead of 10 years ago today that 22-year-old Amadou Diallo, a West African immigrant with no criminal record, was shot at 41 times by four New York City police officers.Officers mistook Diallo for an alleged rapist and opened fire (41 times!) when they again mistook Diallo's attempt to grab his wallet for ID purposes as an attempt to get his non-existent gun.
Rest in as much peace as possible, Amadou, considering all four cops were acquitted of second-degree murder.
