HAPPY WORLD AIDS DAY

World AIDS Day doesn't always come off as a happy holiday, but as a former editor at an HIV news and treatment magazine, I'm so happy that there are so many HIV treatment options for positive people and even post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) meds for negative people who think they've been exposed in the past 72 hours.

There's also a new-ish FREE HIV and STD testing program in New York City run by the Men's Sexual Health Project, or M-SHP. Great news since I had been frequenting Callen Lorde health clinic and paying out of pocket for tests, thinking my only alternatives were those icky city-run health clinic that should really be models for a scared straight HIV program.

M-SHP tests at the West Side Club (27 West 20th Street, 2nd Floor) , East Side Club (227 East 56th Street, 4th Floor) and Bellevue (27th and First Avenue). This month's hours are listed below. You can also visit their site HERE or check out their facebook group HERE.
